Nursery Cordinator Position

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS
The Nursery Coordinator will serve the Restoration community by recruiting, training,
equipping and coordinating all nursery volunteers for infants-3 year olds, while leading
through godly example, prayer, personal initiative, training development and administrative
oversight.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Spiritual Leadership
1. Have an active, genuine relationship with God through scripture, prayer, repentance,
and faith that is demonstrated in personal relationships in his/her family, the church
and the community.
2. Work as a team member with the RSC staff to promote the interests of Jesus Christ in
our church, and seek to foster that unity of purpose among the nursery volunteers.
3. Encourage volunteers to perform their ministries out of love for Christ and his
people.
4. Pray for, recruit, equip, and nurture adult workers.
5. Pray for and encourage the parents of our children.

Administrative and Program Responsibilities
1. Coordinating nursery needs related to other ministry areas such as Vacation Bible
School, Bible studies, and church-wide events...etc.
2. Oversee the facilities, equipment and supplies needed for the nursery ministry; having
all classrooms stocked with consumable supplies and materials and maintaining the
equipment in these rooms.
3. Communicate regularly with church staff, volunteers and parents.
4. Coordinate the screening and training of all staff and volunteers as prescribed in the
“RSC Child Protection Policy” for the nursery.
5. Recruit, screen and train sitters for Bible studies, staff meetings and other
events as needed (for kids ages 0-3).
6. When needed, plan and implement ministry activities and/or lessons which reflect
RSC’s vision and mission statement.
7. Be responsible for the “hands-on” supervision of all volunteers within the nursery
ministry and be able to delegate to team leads.
8. Provide a gift from RSC when babies are born, and upon the baptism of covenant
children.
9. Attend weekly staff meetings.

Lord in the workplace and a sense of calling to Southside.

6. Administratively effective, organized, pro-active and independent worker who can
complete tasks with minimum supervision.

POSITION STRUCTURE
Reports to the Director of Student & Family Ministry
Part Time (10 hours/week)
