September Update:

A letter from the Pastoral Search Committee:

Dear Friends,

For nine months, the eleven of us have been consistently rotating through a prayer list as a committee and the Lord has shown with every prayer that He is going before us and preparing the way. Meeting weekly with the search committee and sometimes talking every day of the week, we have seen God at work and want to share some of our process in hopes of providing encouragement.

First of all, we are grateful to be right on schedule with the anticipated timeline of finding and recommending a new lead pastor. Multiple applications have been received and reviewed. There have been so many encouraging things said by these applicants through their cover letters, phone conversations, and in the interviews. We have enjoyed diving into their lives, including hours and hours of interviews, listening to a gazillion sermons, and meeting some of their wives along the way. It has given us all a chance to reflect on what God is doing here at RSC and a sense that He is doing something bigger than we know or could even imagine. It seems to resonate that Restoration is doing things a bit differently and our authenticity has been an encouragement to many of the candidates.

We are thankful for how the staff and our congregation have set the stage for providing a place all could feel welcome to worship.

The committee is now prayerfully considering a short list of select candidates. This seems to be the hardest part. We want to care for all of the men that are searching for their next calling, their families, and for our own staff, pastor/families, and fellow congregants as we all wait on God’s timing for the process to be completed.

We knew this would not be an easy OR quick process and so with this letter, please know how much your prayers are appreciated, felt and needed.

Would you consider joining us as we pray through the following topics:

1.Present Pastor/family

2.New Pastor/family

3.Discernment

4.Guidance

5.Unity

6.Patience

7.Transition

8.Church Staff and Congregation

9.Pastoral Search Committee

August Update:

We are at a really exciting stage: meeting and interviewing our applicants.

Friends, let us encourage you—it has been such a gift to hear from men all over the country who have found our church’s mission and vision both refreshing and inspiring. What God is doing here is resonating deeply with these applicants, and we’ve been so encouraged to see their energy, enthusiasm, and genuine interest in joining us.

We have a strong pool of godly, gifted candidates. So please be encouraged: the Lord is continuing to do what He has always done—be faithful to His church and provide exactly what we need.

And as always, don’t hesitate to come up and ask us questions whenever you see us. While we do need to protect confidentiality, we’d be glad to share what we can. We invite you to join us in prayer over our team, this process, and our church.

Feb. 13th Update:

We’ve started meeting prayerfully to establish a vision and process for this search.

We ask for your prayers during this season—for unity within our committee, wisdom, and guidance from the Holy Spirit, and for God to prepare the heart of the pastor He is leading to us, as well as the heart of his family.
